The Lantern Festival (元宵節, Yuánxiāo Jié) is celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marking the end of the Lunar New Year festivities. As one of the most visually stunning and culturally rich events in the Lunar calendar, it symbolizes reunion, renewal, and hope for the year ahead.

The most iconic tradition is the hanging and releasing of lanterns, which come in various shapes, colors, and sizes. Some are shaped like animals, dragons, or zodiac signs, while others carry riddles for people to solve—a game enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Another tradition on this day is families gather to eat tangyuan, glutinous rice balls filled with sweet or savory fillings such as black sesame, red bean paste, peanuts, or even meat. The round shape of tangyuan represents family togetherness and completeness. The dish is called "tangyuan," or "yuanxiao".

As the final chapter of the Lunar New Year, the Lantern Festival serves as a moment for reflection, joy, and new beginnings. The glowing lanterns remind us that even in darkness, there is always light and hope.

May your year be filled with happiness, prosperity, and bright moments!

Happy Lantern Festival! (元宵節快樂!) 🎉
