Hello everyone! We hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather this season. We're excited to share an important health resource from the Fairfax County Health Department—free lead testing for household items! Lead is a highly toxic metal often found in and around the home, and young children are especially at risk due to their hand-to-mouth behavior. Exposure in early childhood can lead to serious long-term health effects. To help keep our community safe, lead testing will be available at no cost and no appointment necessary at two local farmers markets each month from 8 AM to 12 PM.
Here’s the testing schedule:
📍 Annandale Farmers Market 6621 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA 22003
Thu., May 8
Thu., June 12
Thu., July 3
Thu., August 14
Thu., September 4
Thu., October 2
📍 Mount Vernon Farmers Market 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane
Wed., May 21
Wed., June 18
Wed., July 16
Wed., August 20
Wed., September 17
Wed., October 15
Let’s work together to protect our families and build a healthier community. If you have questions or want to help spread the word, feel free to reach out. We’d love to hear from you!
Stay safe and see you at the market!
